At Philly Kitchen & Bath LLC, we believe that great design starts with function—and nowhere is that more important than in a bathroom. This week, we wrapped a standout project in Roxborough where we helped a young couple transform their dated, pink-tiled 1980s bathroom into a clean, modern space worthy of a spa.
The biggest challenge? Tight square footage and poor prior layout. Our design team reconfigured the space, replacing a clunky tub with a frameless walk-in shower and expanding floor space using wall-mounted fixtures. The couple chose soft gray ceramic tile installation for both the floors and shower walls, paired with matte black fixtures and a floating teak vanity.
Our in-house remodeling experts managed:
- Demolition and safe removal of old tile (asbestos-free testing included)
- Complete waterproofing using Schluter Systems underlayment
- Custom tile installation with epoxy grout for long-term durability
- New plumbing lines to support rain shower and dual faucet setup
- Recessed LED lighting with dimmable controls
We also re-tiled the kitchen backsplash to match the new bathroom’s aesthetic, giving the first floor a cohesive, high-end feel. Every detail, from grout lines to vanity hardware, was reviewed with the homeowner to ensure their vision was fully realized.
